You give me 'Fever'

Noah has told me that I'd like Nick Hornby's book Fever Pitch. Appropriately enough, today I saw news that it's going to be turned into a movie, starring Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore. Here's the synopsis I found:

Synopsis: A man is obsessed with the Boston Red Sox and a woman is caught in the middle.

Definitely my kind of movie.

That's honestly too bad. The book has already been turned into a movie (starring Colin Firth). The screenplay was written by Nick Hornby, and is pretty damn good for a British flick.

I wonder how much money the Farrelly Bros. paid Nick Hornby to obtain the rights?

Alas they must Americanize everything. Maybe next year John Sayles will remake About a Boy staring Jim Carrey and Haley Joel Osmond.

Yeah, I would have liked to have seen 'High Fidelity' set in the UK, rather than Chicago, since that's where the book set it. It would have given it a different flavor. But then John Cusack wouldn't have done it, and that would have been sad.
