Bear vs. Colt

Even if you don't care a lick about football, these videos are hilarious.

I especially enjoyed the bored response from the real bear in the first video, as well the background music that sounded like a high school kid practicing guitar chords in his garage.

Whose side are you ON?????

Sox appeal

A new reality dating show is slated to take place during Red Sox home games at Fenway this season. The way it works is, one person gets to have three 2-inning blind dates with three prospective mates, then in the 7th innning chooses who to spend the rest of the game with. The producers should have a ball with this one, since the innuendos will be hard to resist.

getting to first/second/third base
scoring
Big Papi
Green Monster (??)
pitching/catching

I'm sure there are more.

Bush league

Was anyone else as pleasantly surprised as I was to see Dikembe Mutombo at the State of the Union? That's probably one of the more wonderfully random things I've seen at an event like that in a while. I realize he's done some good things lately, like raising millions of dollars to build a hospital, but it was completely out of nowhere to me. I don't think I even knew that he was still playing in the NBA.

Incidentally, his full name is:

Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean Jacque Wamutombo

It would have been fun to see Bush give that name a shot. I guess he's still working on nukular.

And according to one station I watched, at least 10 people present in the audience last night were potential Presidential candidates. They're just lining up to get their chance at it. I guess it's like auditioning for American Idol right after William Hung - no matter how bad you do, you know you'll be a step up.

Miss. Nights

R.I.P. Mississippi Nights. A good music club had its last show on Friday.

How Aaron's blog got its groove back

I know what will revive my long-neglected blog....a sexy party!

But seriously folks, I AM here. It's just been one of those years so far I guess. Some things that have crossed my mind in the past....oh, 6 weeks since I last posted:

-The karaoke people we would go to see religiously every week one day just up and left, all unceremoniously. After a few weeks, we went to their new Thursday night venue, only to find them gone the week after that. I'm telling you, these people are elusive. But you've gotta be willing to fight for your karaoke!

-It would have been fun to see a Patriots-Bears Super Bowl, a little rematch of the 1986 debacle. We could have exacted some payback for that thrashing. As much as I hate to say it though, I guess it's finally Indy's time.

-Obies: did you get those new viewbooks in the mail too? Any thoughts? The new slogan is "Fearless." Actually, I don't think you can even call it a slogan. More like a catchphrase. Can a college have a catchphrase. Anyway, point being - I'm not wild about it. It sounds more like a bad kung fu movie or a Nike slogan.

-I've begun thinking about the next step after grad school, namely - internship. You may begin submitting your suggestions now as to which city you'd like me to end up in. I will consider them all equally before coming to a final decision.

And now I leave you with a funny video, particularly if you like Bob Dylan (sent to me by Tal). One of the funnier quotes: "When a song comes on the radio, I'm not sure if it's mine or not. But it usually is."
